The Sony Ericsson S302 is a walkman wonderland
Sony are synonymous with the Walkman, their phones have long been the harbingers of the Walkman player integrated into the phone. The Sony Ericsson S302 is one such handset which encompasses the very core belief of Sony ethics, which is quality media playing whilst on the move. Whilst ensuring that its users have music at their fingertips, this handset is also known for a variety of functionality. One of functions is the integrated 2 mega pixel camera which operates at a resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels. Image quality is enhanced with the inclusion of auto focus and an LED flash, to illuminate the subject matter. Video recording and playback are also available at QCIF quality and at 15 frames per second, on the handset which offers a viable alternative to still images. The centre piece of the Sony Ericsson S302 is an MP3 Walkman player which offers excellent quality sound and comes with TrackID music recognition. This feature is one which has grown in popularity due to its inherent ability to locate information about the track being played. For an alternative to downloaded music, the stereo FM radio offers the ability to listen to broadcasts from local and national radio stations. Memory storage on the phone is set at 20 Mb with the option to expand the memory up to 4 GB by using the memory stick. A 2.0 inch TFT screen is provided which can display 256,000 colours at a pixel size of 176 x 220 pixels. The screen displays images in amazing clarity and offers faithful colour reproduction. A variety of wallpapers and screensavers are also included within the package. GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth and USB are provided as means of connectivity within the phone. This ensures that the phone is able to communicate with a variety of devices and perform numerous tasks, such as file sharing and synchronisation of files with a PC The Sony S302 is 101 mm x 46 mm wide and only 12 mm thick. The unit weighs 79 grams. It is a lightweight phone with a plethora of features, all of which are useful and endearing in equal measure.
